HUD Announces Tim Geitner as Rocky Mountain Regional Administrator
DENVER, Colo. - U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner announced the appointment of Tim Geitner as the Regional Administrator for the Rocky Mountain Region (Region VIII).
“I’m excited to welcome Tim Geitner to lead the Rocky Mountain Region as we take bold steps to address housing needs and improve the lives of Americans,” said HUD Secretary Scott Turner. “His deep commitment to public service and impactful leadership will help HUD usher in the Golden Age of American homeownership.”
Geitner previously served in the Colorado State House from 2019-2022, becoming Assistant Minority Leader by the end of his term. Prior to his legislative service, Geitner spent several years on active duty in the U.S. Army, where he served as an Intelligence Officer at Fort Carson in Colorado, and as an Infantry Officer during a deployment to Afghanistan. He continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve.
“I am deeply honored to serve as HUD's Regional Administrator for the Rocky Mountain Region under the leadership of Secretary Turner. My own experience with homelessness and Section 8 housing as a child, due to my single mother's disability, shaped my understanding of and compassion for our most vulnerable citizens, as well as my love for America,” said Regional Administrator Tim Geitner. “Guided by nearly 20 years of oaths to uphold our Constitution as a soldier and a state legislator, I am excited to use my passion for liberty and self-sufficiency to help foster independence for American families, veterans, and tribes and safeguard important programs that provide our seniors and disabled Americans with security and peace of mind.”
Geitner will lead field operations across Region VIII, serving Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. In this role, Geitner will support Secretary Turner in expanding access to affordable housing, promoting community revitalization, and unlocking homeownership opportunities for Americans in rural, tribal, and urban communities.
