HUD Announces Duey Stroebel as Midwest Regional Administrator

CHICAGO, ILL. – U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner announced the appointment of Duey Stroebel as the Regional Administrator for the Midwest Region (Region V).

“As a former Wisconsin senator and assemblyman, Duey Stroebel has a strong background in creating and implementing policies that put the American people first,” said HUD Secretary Scott Turner. “His extensive record in public service will be critical as we address the needs of Americans in communities across the Midwest. I am proud to have him join the team at HUD and look forward to working with him.”

Stroebel served as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate from 2015 to 2025, following two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2011 to 2012. During his time in the Wisconsin State Legislature, he served as Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Finance, championing fiscal responsibility and accountability. A lifelong resident of the region, Stroebel built a successful real estate management and development business and served on the Cedarburg School Board from 2007 to 2012.

“I am honored to serve under the leadership of Secretary Turner as HUD’s Regional Administrator for the Midwest,” said Regional Administrator Duey Stroebel. “It is an exciting time for HUD, and I look forward to working with Secretary Turner to increase homeownership, support community development, and improve access to affordable housing in Region Five.”

As Regional Administrator for the Midwest Region, Stroebel will support Secretary Turner in expanding access to affordable housing, promoting community revitalization, and unlocking homeownership opportunities for Americans in rural, tribal, and urban communities. HUD’s Region V encompasses Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
