Secretary Turner spoke with Dana Perino of America’s Newsroom on Fox News to discuss innovative policy solutions HUD has implemented to address the housing affordability crisis: “Secretary Burgum and I signed an MOU to identify underutilized federal lands. Our national parks, our forests, our beautiful lands, are and will remain protected…We are working with governors, Congressman, Senators, and local community leaders from different areas across the country to identify these lands and figure out how to best utilize them to build neighborhoods that can bring about more workforce and affordable housing,” Secretary Turner told Dana Perino on America’s Newsroom.
In a sit down with Breitbart News, Secretary Turner discussed the elimination of government back mortgages for illegal aliens: “The Biden administration prioritized illegal aliens over American citizens. We’re putting a stop to that…The Biden administration turned a blind eye and allowed the non-permanent residents to secure FHA mortgages, so we took that category out of FHA to make sure again, and I reiterate our priority, and our only priority is American citizens,” Secretary Turner told Bradley Jaye of Breitbart News.
Secretary Turner, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), and Congressman Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) penned an Opinion piece in Fox News Digital discussing the success of the Opportunity Zone initiative in revitalizing communities, empowering the private sector, and cutting red tape: “If Congress fails to extend TCJA and Opportunity Zones provisions expire, we could see projects years in the making completely upended overnight, along with the largest tax hike in modern history,” wrote Secretary Turner, Senator Scott, and Representative Kelly.

Social safety nets were meant to be a trampoline, if you will, a tool to project people into a life of self-sustainability and longevity, and so that's something that we will be concentrating on going here forward these next 100 days, …Our heart here at HUD is not to grow the amount of people on subsidies, but it is to reduce the number of people on subsidies and help people to live a life of self-sustainability, really, to change the trajectory of people's lives,” Secretary Turner told Alec Schemmel of Fox News Digital.
