Case Processing Requirements

On April 16, 2016, FHA implemented a series of updates to its FHA Connection (FHAC) system, including the launch of its new 203(k) calculator that automates Maximum Mortgage Amount calculations required for both the Standard and Limited 203(k) programs, as well as additional FHAC screen enhancements.  Release Notes are available here.

Technical details for entities utilizing a direct interface with FHAC are available on the FHA Connection Business to Government (B2G) Interface page on HUD.gov.

As of August 2, 2013, FHA has implemented new procedures for handling case processing request for case cancellation, case transfer, case reinstatement, and Mortgage Insurance Certificate (MIC) corrections. All requests will go through the FHA Resource Center via email to answers@hud.gov, utilizing the templates for each process provided below:

NOTE: Documents containing Social Security Numbers or other Personally Identifiable Information (PII) should be encrypted as follows:

Lenders may view status of cancellation requests by case number using the FHA Connection/Case Processing/Case Query screen. Please ensure that the templates above and all required information are included in the email request. Failure to do so will delay the processing time of your request. If you have any questions regarding these new procedures, please contact the FHA Resource Center at 1-800-CALLFHA (225-5342) or by email at answers@hud.gov.
