FHA is pleased to offer the following events and training, including a series of pre-recorded training modules, covering multiple topics on FHA Single Family Housing policies, processes, and technology.

Dispelling Homebuying Myths Educational Webinars

This webinar series reveals the truth about common myths associated with using an FHA-insured loan to purchase a home. In addition to providing a resource to prospective homebuyers, the webinars may be useful for loan originators, real estate professionals, and others interested in learning more about FHA-insured loans and misconceptions in the homebuying process.

SF Handbook Pre-Recorded Training Webinars. This series of pre-recorded training webinars cover the policies that mortgagees use for origination through obtaining a FHA insurance endorsement for Title II forward mortgages. The modules provide an overview of the policies and requirements contained in Sections II.A and II.D of FHA's Origination through Post-Closing/Endorsement for Title II Forward Mortgages section of the Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1.

June 6 & 7, 2023 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Pacific) – In-Person Event: FHA Lender Training – Sacramento, CA. FHA representatives from the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) will conduct a free, two-day, in-person, instructor-led classroom training covering a wide range of topics, including: Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1; underwriting an FHA appraisal; endorsement protocols; the Loan Review System (LRS); and much more. Direct Endorsement underwriters, loan processors and other seasoned mortgage professionals may benefit from this training. Register for this In-Person Event - Advance registration is required no later than March 29, 2023. Check-in for this training begins at 8:00 a.m. local time at the Four Points by Sheraton – Sacramento International Airport, 4900 Duckhorn Drive, Rivers Ballroom, Sacramento, CA 95834. Due to space limitations, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch is on your own. A café and restaurant are available onsite and free visitor parking. June 27, 2023 | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Eastern) – In-Person Event: FHA Underwriting Training – Baltimore, MD. This free, on-site training will provide an overview of FHA underwriting procedures and address industry-related frequently asked questions (FAQs) outlined in FHA’s Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1. This training will cover a variety of topics including credit, income, and asset (CIA) documentation, automated underwriting systems (AUS), closing, and more. Underwriters, processors, loan officers, and mortgage professionals will benefit from this training. Register for this In-Person Event  to be held at the Baltimore Field Office, Bank of America Building – Tower II, 100 South Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 - Advance registration is required no later than June 20, 2023. Due to space limitations, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch is on your own. Attendees must provide a valid, government-issued photo ID and course registration confirmation at the guard station. Please allow extra time for check-in. June 27, 2023 | 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM (Eastern) – In-Person Event: FHA Appraisals Training – Baltimore, MD.This free, on-site training will provide an overview of the appraisal requirements outlined in FHA's Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1. This training will cover property inspection requirements, appraisal validity period, manufactured homes, well and septic, attic and crawl spaces inspection, and the FHA Appraiser Roster. FHA appraisers, underwriters, and lender management personnel with all levels of experience will benefit from this training. Register for this In-Person Event  - Advance registration is required no later than June 20, 2023. Due to space limitations, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch is on your own. July 11, 2023, | 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM (Eastern) – FHA Application Workshop Series – Virtual Event: Session 2 – Non-Supervised Applicants. The FHA's Office of Lender Activities and Program Compliance will conduct a series of free webinar sessions of the FHA Lender Approval Application process as outlined in FHA's Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1. This webinar will provide a detailed overview of the FHA Lender Approval Application process, the eligibility requirements and required documentation for non-supervised mortgagees. Common application deficiencies will be addressed and tips for submitting a successful application will be provided. Session 2 will conclude with a live question and answer (Q&A) session. Electronic Class (EClass) on FHA Loss Mitigation & Servicing System: The EClass System provides additional training on FHA's Loss Mitigation Programs, including FHA's Home Affordable Modification Program (FHA-HAMP), as well as continuing education on loss mitigation & servicing issues that have generated the most industry questions & requests for further training. The EClass System is designed to provide web-based training to HUD-Approved Servicers, HUD-Approved & Nonprofit Housing Counseling Agencies. Find out more...
