Connecting with Residents on the Affordable Connectivity Program - PIH and FPM team-up in Jackson Tennessee
The Memphis Field Office held Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) outreach events on June 29 and July 12 in Jackson Tennessee partnering with the Jackson Housing Authority. HUD's participation with staff from Field Policy & Management and Public & Indian Housing was a part of the Family Empowerment Expo hosted by the Housing Authority for their Allenton Heights and Lincoln Courts communities. Together over 200 people participated in the two events where information was provided on the ACP along with service providers being available to sign-up families. While ACP participation is lower than average in Jackson, FPM and PIH collaborating with partners like the Jackson Housing Authority to increase awareness and participation. This is especially important with children soon returning to school and discounts being available for a laptop, desktop computer or tablet through the ACP.
