HUD AWARDS $7.3 MILLION TO TRIBAL COMMUNITIES IN NEBRASKA FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING

NEBRASKA - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today announced $7,308,195 in grants to four Tribes and Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs) in Nebraska to support new housing construction, housing rehabilitation, and critical infrastructure projects.

Today's grant is part of $775 million in Fiscal Year 2022 Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) Formula Allocations to 594 eligible Tribes across the country. View a complete list of all the communities who received funding.

This funding invests in our tribal communities and provides vital services for the tribes’ at-risk residents.” said Regional Administrator Ulysses M. Clayborn. “HUD’s Native American partners will use these resources to increase housing supply, expand economic opportunity, and raise up families in Nebraska”.

HUD’s Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) program provides funding to Tribes to construct new housing units for low-income families living in Tribal communities. Tribes most often use this funding to support the construction of new housing units, which will also help spur economic opportunities in these communities.
