HUD Southeast Regional Administrator Denise Cleveland-Leggett recently delivered the keynote speech at the 35th Argus Foundation Annual Luncheon, on behalf of Secretary Carson, in Sarasota, Florida.

Cleveland-Leggett spoke about new HUD Initiatives such as Envision Centers, which will be helping low income families achieve self-sufficiency, and about the need to find solutions for affordable housing. An audience of more than 160 attendees participated in the organization’s luncheon. Argus Foundation’s mission is to apply business leadership to identify, educate, advocate, and collaborate on solutions for important community issues that will enhance the quality of life, environment, and economic well-being of Sarasota County.

As a result of Cleveland-Leggett’s participation, the local HUD team led by Jacksonville Field Office Director Alesia Scott-Ford, is scheduling a panel soon to further explore options to address affordable housing challenges in the Sarasota community.
