The Alexander City Housing Authority (ACHA) team won the MLK Southeastern Regional basketball tournament earlier this year. The competition was held in Laurel, Mississippi, where the winning team, ages 15-18, also visited an art museum and attended an academic achievement banquet.

Local authorities and coaches from participating housing authorities promote activities and encourage the young athletes and studentsā€™ performance, as they are becoming youth role models in their communities.
