SEC-953 -- FAIR HOUSING INITIATIVES PROGRAM. 

 
 (a) Authorization of Appropriations.-The first sentence of section
561(d) of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1987 (42 U.S.C.
3616 note) is amended to read as follows: "There are authorized to be
appropriated to carry out the provisions of this section, including any
program evaluations, $6,000,000 for fiscal year 1991 and $6,300,000 for
fiscal year 1992, of which not more than $3,000,000 in each year shall
be for the private enforcement initiative demonstration.".
 
 (b) Extension of Program.-Section 561(e) of the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1987 (42 U.S.C. 3616 note) is amended by striking
"September 30, 1989" and inserting "September 30, 1992".
