SEC-506 -- PUBLIC HOUSING ASSISTANCE FOR FOSTER CARE CHILDREN. Section 6 of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437d), as amended by the preceding provisions of this Act, is further amended by adding at the end the following new subsection: "(o) Subject to the preference rules specified in subsection (c)(4)(A), in providing housing in low-income housing projects, each public housing agency may coordinate with any local public agencies involved in providing for the welfare of children to make available dwelling units to- "(1) families identified by the agencies as having a lack of adequate housing that is a primary factor- "(A) in the imminent placement of a child in foster care; or "(B) in preventing the discharge of a child from foster care and reunification with his or her family; and "(2) youth, upon discharge from foster care, in cases in which return to the family or extended family or adoption is not available.".
