SEC-413 -- RELATED AMENDMENTS TO SECTION 8.


 (a) Eligibility.-The first sentence of section 8(o)(3) of the United
States Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437f(o)(3)) is amended by-

 (1) striking "or"; and

 (2) inserting the following before the period: ", or

 "(D) a family that qualifies to receive a voucher in connection with
a homeownership program approved under title IV of the Cranston-Gonzalez
National Affordable Housing Act".

 (b) Replacement Housing.-

 (1) Certificates.-Section 8(b) of the United States Housing Act of 1937
(42 U.S.C. 1437f(b)) is amended by adding at the end the following new
paragraph:

 "(2) The Secretary is authorized to enter into annual contributions
contracts with public housing agencies for the purpose of replacing
public housing transferred in accordance with title III of this Act.
Each contract entered into under this subsection shall be for a term of
not more than 60 months.".

 (2) Vouchers.-Section 8(o) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42
U.S.C. 1437f(o)) is amended by adding at the end the following new
paragraph:

 "(9) The Secretary is authorized to enter into contracts with public
housing agencies to provide rental vouchers for the purpose of replacing
public housing transferred in accordance with title III of this Act.
Each contract entered into under this paragraph shall be for a term of
not more than 60 months.".
