Mortgagee Letter 92-8
   TO:  ALL APPROVED MORTGAGEES
   ATTENTION:  SINGLE FAMILY SERVICING MANAGERS
   SUBJECT:  Change in Instructions for Filing Claims for Single
             Family Insurance Benefits (Deed-in-Lieu of Foreclosure)
 
        In the case of a deed-in-lieu, Mortgagee Letter 90-7
   instructed mortgagees to enter in item 11 the date the deed-in-lieu
   is executed (signed).  Effective 30 days from the date of
   this mortgagee letter, this instruction is changed as follows:
 
        ... Enter the date the deed is recorded.
 
        If the mortgagee elects to accept a deed-in-lieu of
   foreclosure, the deed must be recorded within one year from the
   date of default "with title being taken in the name of the
   mortgagee or the "Secretary."

   Office.
