     TO:  ALL APPROVED MORTGAGEES
     SUBJECT:  Credit Alert Interactive Voice Response System (CAIVRS)
                 Change in Telephone Number
 
          This Mortgagee Letter provides a supplemental change to
     Mortgagee Letter 93-17 , dated June 28, 1993.  The procedures
     outlined in Enclosures I and II of the above Mortgagee Letter
     remain the same.
 
          Effective October 1, 1993, the new telephone number for
     CAIVRS will be 301-344-4000, and its hours of operation are still
     Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Eastern
     Time.  Please note that this is not a toll-free number and that a
     touch-tone telephone must be used.
