www.hudclips.org U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT WASHINGTON, D. C. 20410-8000 February 11, 1991 OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR HOUSING-FEDERAL HOUSING COMMISSIONER MORTGAGEE LETTER 91-10 TO: ALL APPROVED MORTGAGEES SUBJECT: Changes to HUD's Occupied Conveyance Procedures Mortgagee Letter 88-12, dated April 27, 1988, provided instructions to all mortgagees on the procedures for occupied conveyance. That Mortgagee Letter requires mortgagees to notify the occupants of a single family property of pending acquisition. Along with the notification to occupants, mortgagees are required to send, among other enclosures, Form HUD-9539, Request for Occupied Conveyance. This form has been slightly revised to make it more convenient for occupants to complete and for HUD to process. Accordingly, all mortgagees must begin using the enclosed revised form as soon as their current supply has been depleted. Mortgagees must also begin to provide the local HUD Field Office with their HUD Mortgagee Approval Identification Number. This number must be included with the copy of the initial notification letter sent to the Field Office. All other requirements of Mortgagee Letter 88-12 remain in effect. Any questions regarding these procedures should be directed to the local HUD Field Office having jurisdiction over the property being considered for occupied conveyance. Very sincerely yours, Arthur J. Hill Acting Assistant Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner Enclosure
