C. 20410-8000 September 28, 1990 OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR HOUSING-FEDERAL HOUSING COMMISSIONER Mortgagee Letter 90-37 TO: ALL APPROVED MORTGAGEES ATTENTION: Servicing Managers (Single Family) SUBJECT: Recertification of Family Income and Composition Statistical Report Section 235(b), (j) and (i) (Form HUD-93101-A) Some mortgagees are failing to complete and submit the Form HUD-93101-A when performing Section 235 retroactive recertifications. Retroactive recertifications must be performed in the same manner as annual or optional recertifications. The Department has issued no instructions to omit any of the recertification process documentation. Therefore, a HUD-93101-A must be prepared and submitted for each payment change. Please refer to HUD Handbook 4330.1, Administration of Insured Home Mortgages, Chapter 10, paragraph 10-35, RECORDS MAINTENANCE, B, 1), a., and Paragraph 10-37, REPORTING REQUIREMENTS, for information regarding the use of the form. Instructions for completion are on the front of the HUD-93101-A. A copy of each form is to be mailed to: Department of Housing and Urban Development, Information Policies and Systems, Data Entry Support Branch - Room 7149, 451 7th Street, SW, Washington, D.C. 20410. The original should be attached to your HUD-93102 for payment processing by the Office of Finance and Accounting (OFA) and mailed to: U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Subsidized Housing Program Division, 451 7th Street, SW, Room 3206 Washington, DC 20410 Failure to attach the billing copy for OFA could cause delays in subsidy processing. The submission of revised Form HUD-93101-A, dated March 1990, is crucial to the Department. The information entered especially in Section C, Statistical Data, block 6, Amount of Increase or Decrease, and block 7, Effective Date of _____________________________________________________________________ 2 Payment Change, is used by the Office of Finance and Accounting Subsidy Accounting Branch to substantiate and reconcile the amount of assistance which is paid on each mortgage. HUD will monitor the submission of these forms to ensure that they are accurate and submitted as required and mortgagees will be held accountable.
