www.hudclips.org U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT WASHINGTON, D. C. 20410-8000 JUNE 26, 1990 OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR HOUSING-FEDERAL HOUSING COMMISSIONER Mortgagee Letter 90-21 MEMORANDUM FOR: ALL APPROVED MORTGAGEES SUBJECT: Submission of Title Evidence for Conveyances Often, title evidence submitted by mortgagees to the local HUD Field Offices does not include a street address or an FHA case number. This requires many staff hours for research to match the title evidence to a property in the inventory. Therefore, effective August 1, 1990, when submitting title evidence for any conveyances, the mortgagee must attach a photostat copy of Part A of HUD-27011 (OMB No. 2535-0093), Single Family Application for Insurance Benefits. Failure to provide the required copy of Part A of the Form HUD-27011 with the title evidence shall be basis for rejection of the entire title evidence submission. You are reminded that if acceptable title evidence is not submitted within 45 days of the date the deed to HUD is recorded, debenture interest will be curtailed. Please direct any questions to the Property Disposition Branch of your local HUD office or the Headquarters Single Family Property Disposition Division at (202) 708-1832 or 708-0740. Very sincerely yours, C. Austin Fitts Assistant Secretary for Housing - Federal Housing Commissioner
