C. 20410 February 19, 1981 OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR HOUSING - FEDERAL HOUSING COMMISSIONER IN REPLY REFER TO: Mortgagee Letter 81-6 TO: ALL HUD-APPROVED MORTGAGEES SUBJECT: Consolidated List of Debarred, Suspended and Ineligible Contractors and Grantees This is to advise that the Department's Consolidated List of Debarred, Suspended and Ineligible Contractors and Grantees pursuant to 24 CFR Part 24, will be sent to all HUD-approved mortgagees. This is being done to inform approved mortgagees of those individuals and entities precluded from participation in HUD programs. Approved mortgagees shall not knowingly engage the services of any individual or entity in a capacity which offers the opportunity to influence the actions of the Department with respect to any HUD program, including the mortgage insurance programs, where it was known or should have been known that the individual or entity is included in the Consolidated List of Debarred, Suspended and Ineligible Contractors and Grantees. It is the responsibility of each HUD-approved mortgagee to consult this list in order to make certain that it is not doing business with or employing individuals or entities relative to participation in any HUD program, during any period of debarment, suspension, or placement in ineligibility status under the provisions of 24 CFR Part 24. Approved mortgagees that knowingly engage the services of individuals or entities included in the list may be subject to administrative sanctions by the Department's Mortgagee Review Board pursuant to 24 CFR Part 25.
