TO     :  ALL HUD APPROVED MORTGAGEES
SUBJECT:  Payment of Claims - Mortgages Insured Under Title X
 
     Mortgage insurance benefits for mortgages insured under Title X
of the National Housing Act are currently paid with debentures.
 
     With respect to any claim for insurance benefits filed involving
a Title X mortgage, where the project mortgage was endorsed for
insurance on or after March 1, 1980, HUD will pay such claims in
cash.
