HUD Virtual University | HUD’s Internal Training Portal

HUD Virtual University is an internal talent and performance management portal that aligns HUD employees with training to fulfill the Department's strategic objectives. GMO encourages all HUD program office staff involved in grant writing to take the following courses:

Writing Effective NOFOs and Developing Sound Rating Criteria: This course is designed to help program office staff develop better NOFOs, application rating factors, and evaluator instructions.

The Plain Writing Act: This course will introduce methods and principles of effectively composing paper documents and web content. It will help participants organize and decipher confusing content, imprecise instructions, and unnecessarily complicated processes often found when reading or using government documents.

External Training

There are numerous of ways grantees and pass-through entities can learn more about grant writing, grants appropriating laws and regulations, monitoring grants, and grant audit preparation. Useful information can be found on Grants.gov and grant related courses are offered through companies such as, but not limited to, Management Concepts and the Graduate School USA.
