General Information

The mission of The Housing Authority of Columbus, Georgia (HACG) is to be the foremost provider of quality, affordable housing in the Columbus region by developing, revitalizing, and managing contemporary housing communities. HACG diligently works with a variety of community partners every day to offer life-changing programs to its residents. HACG credits employing passionate people, managing and maintaining quality properties, and working with a diverse group of partners in their success.

Currently, HACG manages approximately 500 public housing units and 3,900 Housing Choice Voucher units.

MTW Status

HACG was selected as an MTW agency through a competition held in 2012 as part of HUD’s 2011 budget appropriation (Public Law 112-10, 125 Stat. 103) and its Standard MTW Agreement was executed on July 3, 2013, which ran through its Fiscal Year 2018. As a result of Congress passing the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2016, HACG’s MTW Agreement was modified and extended to the end of its Fiscal Year 2028.
