    CDC Order and Declaration Form that Prevents Evictions

    On January 29, 2021, the CDC extended and modified an Order that temporarily halts evictions for nonpayment of rent through March 31, 2021.  To be eligible for eviction protections under the Order, residents must sign a declaration form and meet the requirements outlined in the Order, which are also described in the declaration form.

    PHA Fact Sheet for Eviction Prevention - Assisting Tenants Who Have Accrued Back Rent

    This fact sheet provides Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) with guidance on how to assist tenants who have accumulated back rent during the suspensions of evictions. Although the fact sheet was designed for PHAs, it is a great resource for tenants to use when they talk to their PHA about ways to stay in their current housing.

    Tenant Flyer - Eviction Prevention (November 18, 2020)

    This tenant flyer explains that the CDC temporary halt in evictions was enacted on September 4, 2020 and expired December 31, 2020.  This flyer was published prior to the announcement to extend the CDC temporary halt in evictions to March 31, 2021.

    Tenant Brochure - Eviction Prevention (July 1, 2020)

    This tenant brochure provides information and resources to prevent an eviction for non-payment of rent as the CARES Act eviction suspension was near expiration (July 24, 2020). There is also information on COVID-19 safety concerns, protections under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and resources related to tenant needs.

    This flyer addressed tenant concerns regarding the CARES Act eviction suspension that was enacted on March 27, 2020 and expired on July 24, 2020.
