Service of Process on HUD

Service of civil process on HUD, a HUD officer or employee sued in an official capacity, or the United States in an action involving HUD, must comply with all applicable rules, including the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

No official or employee of a HUD Field Office is authorized to accept service of process (by mail or hand-delivery) on behalf of the Secretary or any other Headquarters HUD employee.

In addition, process servers are encouraged to send a courtesy copy of any civil process electronically to: ogc_civilprocess@hud.gov.
