Training Curriculum: Fair Housing Act Requirement 4 - Accessible Route Into and Through the Dwelling Unit

Training Description

This Fair Housing Accessibility First training curriculum focuses on training learners on the Fair Housing Act's requirement 4: accessible route into and through the dwelling unit. Participants will become familiar with the design specifications, requirements, and restrictions for providing an accessible route into and through a covered dwelling unit.

Topics Covered:

  • Fair Housing Act Overview: Identify the history and protections of the Fair Housing Act (FHA).
  • Safe Harbors: Understand the purpose of a safe harbor and how to use safe harbors to comply with the FHA.
  • Organization of the Accessibility Guidelines: Identify the organization of the content sections in the Accessibility Guidelines.
  • Requirement 4 - The Guidelines: Identify the definitions and content of the Accessibility Guidelines regarding Requirement 4.
  • Requirement 4 - The FHADM: Identify the scoping and technical specifications in the FHADM regarding Requirement 4.
  • Multistory Dwelling Units: Identify the scoping and technical specifications of Requirement 4 that apply to multistory dwelling units.
  • Thresholds and Accessible Routes: Identify the scoping and technical specifications of Requirement 4 that apply to thresholds and accessible routes.

Test Your Knowledge
Once you have completed the training, you can take the test for this training. The test consists of 10 questions, and an 80% score is required to pass. Upon passing the test, a certificate of passing will be emailed to you within 15 minutes.
