FY 2014 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Family Self-Sufficiency Program Coordinators
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program Coordinators NOFA is comprised of both the General Section to the Department's FY 2014 NOFAs for Discretionary Programs (General Section) published February 19, 2014 and this NOFA. In addition to the application requirements set forth in the NOFA, applicants must also comply with the requirements established in the General Section, and all Family Self-Sufficiency Program Coordinators requirements. This NOFA announces the availability of funding of approximately $75 million for salaries of program coordinators for the FSS Program. The objective of the FSS program is to enable participating low-income families to increase their earned income and reduce their dependency on welfare assistance and rental subsidies. Under the FSS program, low-income families are provided opportunities for education, job training, counseling and other forms of social service assistance, while living in assisted housing, so they can obtain skills necessary to achieve self-sufficiency.
