Statement from HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge on the Passing of Joe Madison

WASHINGTON - Today, Marcia L. Fudge, the 18th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued the following statement on the passing of Joe Madison:

“Joe Madison held many titles over the course of his long career: The Black Eagle, Radio Hall of Fame inductee, civil rights leader, and pioneer. To me, his most important roles were that of truth teller and unapologetic voice of the people, especially those whose voices often go unheard.

“I will always appreciate his commitment to ensuring leaders answer to the communities and people who rely on us to do our jobs well. My condolences go out to Joe’s family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who enjoyed hearing his voice in the morning. He will be missed.”
