The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services are making COVID-19 antigen test kits available to HUD Section 202 Housing for the Elderly properties free of charge.
Section 202 owners and site-based staff can register to order test kits to be delivered directly to their properties on a weekly basis using the Health Partner Ordering Portal (HPOP).
This webpage provides detailed information and instructions for Section 202 property staff on how to register and place orders. HUD highly encourages Section 202 property staff to review the instructional materials before beginning the process.
What Properties are Eligible
At this time, properties serving older adult residents that have current or past Section 202/8 or Section 202 Capital Advance and/or rental assistance from HUD are eligible to register and order test kits via the portal. Find eligible properties.
Who Should Register
-
Registrations and ordering should be done on a property-by-property basis. Each property should be separately registered to order test kits.
-
If you are an owner or manager of multiple eligible properties, you must register each property separately.
-
Each property must provide the iREMS number in the “State PIN” field. This is the 9 digit HUD Id for each project that starts with “800XXXXXX”. If you need help finding your iREMS number, please visit the following links based on where the property is located:
-
Southwest Region
Note: You must use Chrome to load the spreadsheet. The Power BI report will not load in MS Edge.
-
NOTE: The property name and address must match the iREMS number or the registration will not be approved.
How Many Kits Should You Order
-
Test kits will be delivered on a regular weekly basis.
-
1 package contains 45 test kits. Each kit includes 2 tests.
-
Each property should order enough test kits that will be used by residents on a weekly basis. Properties should not stockpile or advance order test kits.
-
For example, a property with 45 residents may anticipate using 90 kits per week, or one package.
