The Organization for Environmental Preservation will organise the First Festival of Children Culture in Brazil (In October) in commemoration of World Habitat Day. The aim of this festival is to provide the possibilities and means so that the children can develop their capacity and skills to identify, defend and communicate their identity and culture in their relationships with other children – between rural and urban regions, states and countries – and with adults.
The first world children’s cultural festival called Children’s Festworld is being launched to commemorate the World Habitat Day and Children’s Day in Brazil, and will take place from 8 to 10 October, 2009, in the Colegio Estadual José Valente e Ginásio Domingos Xavier Nunes – Rua Alencar Antunes de Oliveira, Quadra 13 Centro in Nerópolis, Goiás. |

The Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Mayor de San Andres, La Paz Bolivia has organised a photography contest, related to the topic of the World Habitat Day. There will be an exposition of the pictures on October 4th. The objective of the Contest is to represent by means of photography the problems of social housing within environmental, cultural and architectural city-planning contexts. Each participant will be able to present/display a maximum of 3 photographs.
Also planned is a roundtable about the urban future in Bolivian context. |
