After the Deal: Management and Occupancy Issues in HUD Housing Programs, May 24, 2006 (3 hours, 30 minutes)
Frequently American Bar Association Forum and HUD pre-Forum topics concentrate on the developmental aspects of assisted and unassisted housing under HUD programs. This course examines selected aspects of management and occupancy "after the deal" has been planned, financing arranged, and construction completed. It concentrates on Section 8 project-based housing (both early funded new construction and substantial rehabilitation projects and project based vouchers), but also treats special aspects of management and occupancy surrounding FHA insured multifamily projects and public housing (particularly Hope VI and mixed finance).

Removing Regulatory Barriers, May 18, 2004 (1 hour)
If you are interest in promoting the availability of affordable
housing through regulatory reform, or if your are involved in applying
for funding through HUD's NOFA process, you'll find this webcast
to be of particular interest.
In this webcast, a panel of experts looks at the incentive criteria
that HUD has built into its grant (funding) process, and explains
how communities can receive up to two additional points in the evaluative
process by demonstrating that tangible steps have been or are being
taken to promote affordable housing through regulatory reform. HUD
has collected and publishes a wide range of regulatory reform strategies
to assist cities and towns in their efforts to encourage development
and rehabilitation of affordable housing. This information is stored
in an easy-to-use searchable database available through HUD's Regulatory
Barriers Clearinghouse, which is also covered in some detail
in this webcast.
