The
.ini file contains instructions for the DCD concerning where data
is received from, downloaded to, and which dial-up connection is
used for the PASS program. The REAC production .ini directs the
DCD to download and upload information to the production servers
at HUD.
Internet
Service Provider (ISP) Configuration
PASS
requires a connection to the internet to transmit and receive data.
Installation and configuration of the ISP is done outside of PASS.
The
REAC_DCD.ini file links the PASS software to the ISP. The default
installation assumes a Windows XP dial-up connection named HUD.
If a dial-up connection named HUD is created and properly configured
nothing else is necessary for the PASS program to establish the
connection. If the dial-up connection is named something other than
HUD, the DIALNW perameter in REAC_DCD.ini must be changed to match
that connection name.
Below
is an example of the REAC_DCD.ini file with the connection name
highlighted in red.
Note:
The connection name must be the actual name of the connection, not
a shortcut name. The name can be found under the My Computer icon
in the Dial-up Connections folder.
