Subject: Clarification to Notice PIH 98-27 (HA), Procedures for Calculating Earned Administrative Fees in the Section 8 Rental Certificate, Rental Voucher, and Moderate Rehabilitation Programs

 

  1. Purpose. This Notice provides clarification on calculating administrative fees under portability.
  2. Clarification: The following paragraph on portability replaces paragraph 4, page 3: "When calculating the initial HA's fee, HUD reimburses the HA for the first 600 units of the monthly per unit fee amount from Column A. The initial HA must base the portability administrative fee on the initial HA's Column B amount. Generally, the portability fee will be 80% of the Column B amount unless both HAs agree to a different amount of reimbursement."
