Income and Rent Calculation On-line Course

The new Income and Rent Calculation Online Course is now available. The Department is confident that this course will help to achieve our goal of reducing income and rent errors that have the attention of the President and Congress.

Course Description

The online income and rent training is available to both PHA staff and supervisors. This course will provide your staff with rent policies and procedures for both the public housing and housing choice voucher programs, and equip them with the necessary skills to correctly calculate income and rent. The course is based on materials covered in the Rental Housing Integrity Improvement Project (RHIIP) Training Summits held in 2004. The Department is confident this course will assist in the preparedness for future Rental Integrity Monitoring (RIM) reviews by reducing the subsidy error rates, by offering hands-on experience in how to determine and calculate annual income, implement the mandatory earned income disallowance, identify and determine the value of assets, calculate income from assets, calculate adjusted income, verify family information using HUD's verification hierarchy, and calculation of tenant rent. This valuable online training course is currently being offered at no cost to your agency.
