Moving to Work (MTW) Guidance on Designated Housing MTW Demonstration Sites

- -
 Information by State
 Print version

Although MTW Demonstration sites are exempt from many of the regulations under the Housing Act of 1937 (1937 Act), MTW sites are not exempt from the regulations governing the designation of public housing for use by specific resident populations. The designation of public housing for use by specific resident populations is authorized by the Housing Act of 1937 (the Act), as amended.  The resident populations for which all, or a portion of, a public housing development may be designated are elderly families, disabled families, and a combination of the two.  PIH Notice 2005-02  details the administrative steps necessary to designate all, or a portion of, a public housing development for use by one of these resident populations.
