General Information
The Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) administers 14,544
public housing units and 14,945 housing choice vouchers. The public
housing units are located at 18 family sites (including # several
HOPE VI sites), 21 mixed population sites, and scattered sites around
the city.
Status
HABC signed its agreement in December 2008 and began preparations
for implementation.
Goals
- Reduce costs and achieve greater cost effectiveness in providing
housing assistance
- Develop strategies to reduce reliance from federal housing subsidies
- Increase supply of affordable housing
- Improve the physical condition of OHAs scattered site units
- Increase housing choices for low-income families
- Address housing needs in locally-determined ways
