Moving to Work (MTW) Atlanta Housing Authority

General Information

The Atlanta Housing Authority's (AHA)'s MTW program began July 1, 2003 and will terminate June 30, 2010.

Status

The AHA signed their MTW agreement in 2003 and began preparations for implementation. AHA submitted the agency's first Annual MTW Plan for review in 2004.

Goals

AHA will use occupancy policies developed under the MTW program to focus on the four goals underlying AHA's delivery and promotion of affordable housing resources. These are:

• Become a superior provider of quality affordable housing and property and asset management services;
• Develop AHA into an economically viable and self-sustaining entity;
• Expand, improve, and diversify AHA's portfolio and AHA's influence in the affordable housing market while becoming a catalyst for community revitalization; and
• Promote and support resident economic self-sufficiency and upward mobility out of public housing and/or the Housing Choice Voucher Program
