Update: Reallocation of Baseline WtW Voucher Units

- -
 Information by State
 Print version

May 10, 2002 was the deadline for eligible PHAs to apply for reallocated baseline WtW voucher units and budget authority under the provision of the November 1, 2001 Federal Register reallocation notice. Here is a quick update/status report on the application process:
  • Of the 131 local agencies administering the WtW voucher program, 67 agencies were eligible to apply for reallocated baseline WtW voucher units, based on a 97 percent or above leasing rate as reflected in the March Leasing Report. Note: an additional 14 sites failed to report March leasing data and may or may not be eligible to apply.
  • HUD received applications for the reallocated baseline WtW voucher units from 46 agencies.
  • A total of 1,736 baseline WtW voucher units are available for reallocation. The 46 agencies the submitted applications applied for a total of 11,334 units. This results in a demand versus supply ratio of almost 7 to 1.
  • HUD is currently in the process of reviewing the applications and will follow the selection and funding procedures described under Section III.C of the November 1, 2001 Federal Register reallocation notice.
  • HUD expects to notify applicants of funding decisions before the end of September, 2002.
