Overview
Many Welfare to Work voucher families face multiple barriers to
achieving self-sufficiency. Identifying these barriers early, linking
participants to services, and regular monitoring are critical to
getting and keeping participants employed and, ultimately, helping
them to become self-sufficient. Many participants may only need
assistance with childcare and transportation. Others may be better
prepared and better able to meet the expectations of the Welfare
to Work Voucher program after referral to and participation in appropriate
supportive service programs.
