October 2000 Leasing Report - Welfare to Work Vouchers

Summary of Leasing Report

1. As of October 2000, 86% of WtW vouchers program-wide have been issued to eligible families and 40% have been leased.
   
   
2. Information collected from the monthly telephone calls to the 132 WtW voucher sites indicates that:
   
   
   • 75 sites (57%) have issued 100% or more of their voucher allocation.
     
   • 98 sites (74%) have issued 75% or more of their voucher allocation.
     
   • 54 sites (41%) have leased 50% or more of their voucher allocation.
     
     
3. Data on progress achieved during October 2000 shows a 2% increase in vouchers issued, and a 27% increase in vouchers leased over figures for September 2000. Similar improvements had been recorded between the end of August and the end of September.
   
   
4. A spreadsheet is also attached that lists the WtW sites (ordered alphabetically by State) that have issued 100% and leased 70% or more of their vouchers as of October 2000.
