Training for independent auditors

HUD has developed the Section Eight Management Assessment Program Computer Based Training (SEMAP CBT) to provide guidance for independent auditors regarding their role in the SEMAP process.

The CBT contains the following:

  • An overview of SEMAP and it's key management indicators
  • Tools that auditors may use when performing a voucher program compliance review as part of a single audit of a PHA
  • Covers training objectives, detailed information, quizzes, and reviews of the material presented

PHAs are urged to inform their auditors of the availability of this free training. Auditors may earn two continuing professional education credits for completion of this course.

Directions for downloading the CBT

Auditors, PHAs, and HUD staff may download the SEMAP CBT to learn more about the independent auditor's role in SEMAP. Allow approximately 2 hours to take the course.

  3. Once installed, a training shortcut will appear on your desktop, represented by the following icon: Training Icon

  4. Click on the icon and begin taking the course!

Please note that the CBT contains resources in PDF format. Be sure you have a PDF viewer on your system which allows you to view these files.
