Last surviving Navajo Code Talker tells his story
Seventy years ago, during World War II (WWII), the U.S. Marine Corps asked 29 Navajo men to help them fight the Japanese. These men became known as the Navajo Code Talkers and created a complex code of secret communications for the U.S to use in the war.

Wampanoag Tribe works to revive native language
For 150 years, the Wampanoag language has been the only American Indian language without any living speakers. But one woman has changed this by starting the Wôpanâak Language Reclamation Project. 

Youth visit Washington, D.C. for National Native American Heritage Month
In November, two youth from the Boys & Girls Club of the Penobscot Nation in Maine traveled to Washington, D.C. for an American Indian & Alaska Native Heritage Month event at the offices of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Athlete Profile: A.J. Russell, NASCAR driver
A.J. is special, not only because he is a first-generation racer, but he is also a member of the Cherokee Nation, making him one of the first Native Americans to ever race in the highest three levels of NASCAR.
