of Native American Programs was established November, 1980 and since that time
we have had contact with many tribes or bands. Here is a list of ninety one (91)
tribes, of which fifty-five (55) are federally recognized, and the others are
either state recognized or have a relationship with their states which is short
of state recognition. Federally recognized tribes have a government-to-government
