Overview

In FY06, Homeownership was added as a component to this program. The Homeownership component provides funds to recipients to deliver homeownership training, counseling and supportive services for residents of Public and Indian housing who are participating or have participated in self-sufficiency programs.

Funds from Family RSDM grants may be used for activities such as:

  • Supportive services, including child care, education, youth mentoring, counseling, case management, and computer training.
  • Economic development services such as job training, entrepreneurship development, credit union development, and job placement.
  • Physical improvements to provide space for self-sufficiency activities.
