To All HUD Approve HECM Counseling Agencies:

HECM for Purchase becomes effective on January 1, 2009.  The Office of Program Support will hold a 
conference call on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. EST which will last approximately 2 hours 
to provide training and guidance on counseling issues for HECM for Purchase.

We suggest that you become familiar with Mortgagee Letter 2008-33 and the Frequently Asked 
Questions posted to the HUD website.  Early next week we will forward training materials for you to 
follow during the call on December 18.

The dial-in number is 800-255-9916 and the conference ID # is 77444381.  There will be some time 
set-aside for questions and answers.

This message has been sent to all Active Agencies participating in HUD’s HECM Counseling program.  
Parent agencies should distribute this information to their sub-agencies in case their emails were missing 
or posted in error in HCS.
