CompuMentor. As one of the nation's leading nonprofit technology assistance organizations, CompuMentor helps small to medium-sized nonprofit organizations serving low-income and underserved populations to use technology more effectively to achieve their missions. In its partnership with Neighborhood Networks, CompuMentor will provide technology resources to the Northern California Neighborhood Networks Consortium. The donation to each member center will include some or all of the following: a basic office suite (a full-featured word processor, a spreadsheet program, a presentation program, and a mail and personal information manager); an anti-virus package; a learning/education module for children; Front Page or a similar training package for Web design; and a financial product (i.e., Quick Books). The organization will also donate tech consulting to each member center to assess the center's technology needs and tailor the software donation according to center capacity. Visit the CompuMentor Web site for more information.
