In
A Tale of Two Cities Charles Dickens writes: "It was the best of
times, it was the worst of times . . . it was the spring of hope,
it was the winter of despair . . ." As unemployment figures reach
double digits, times are hard for job seekers as well as those who
have been working for years. Many have found that they need to re-tool
and prepare for something new. How can residents who are seeking
a position in today's highly competitive job market access resources
to help them acquire skills for new or better employment?
Neighborhood
Networks centers can offer activities that strengthen a job seeker's
employment skills as well as soft skills to boost their ability
to compete in a tight market. This call will cover tools and techniques
to help center staff assist residents in identifying employment
resources in a challenging job market.
