- -
 Information by State
 Print version

Each week, Neighborhood Networks provides potential funding sources to help centers develop and improve programs and services. Featured this week is National City.

Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, National City Corporation is one of the nation's largest financial holding companies. The company operates through an extensive banking network primarily in Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Pennsylvania, and also serves customers in selected markets nationally. Its core businesses include commercial and retail banking, mortgage financing and servicing, consumer finance, and asset management.

Program Areas: National City recognizes its responsibility to the communities in which it operates and its employees live and work. The company offers support in the form of cash donations, in-kind gifts or services, and employee volunteers. National City's charitable giving goes toward supporting organizations that enhance educational, economic, and cultural priorities and provide for the health and welfare of all citizens.

Targeted Area: Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Midwest.

Eligibility: National City supports organizations dedicated to enhancing programs that provide community benefits in the areas of health and human services, arts and culture, education, and civic affairs. To be eligible for support, an organization or institution must operate for public purposes and qualify as nonprofit with a tax-exempt status under the United States Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization. To accomplish its goals and be responsive to local community needs and priorities, each affiliate bank receives and acts upon grant requests from organizations located in the respective area in the states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Missouri. National City seeks to maximize the benefits of its contributions by giving to entities which have widespread corporate, foundation, and community support.

Award Amount: Award amounts vary.

 -   Copy of letter from the IRS granting tax-exempt, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) status.
