week, Neighborhood Networks provides potential funding sources to
help centers develop and improve programs and services. Featured
this week is Avnet.
Avnet
is one of the world's largest industrial distributors of electronic
parts, enterprise computing and storage products and embedded subsystems,
creating a vital link in the technology supply chain.
Program
Areas: Avnet believes in being a responsible corporate citizen
in the communities to which it belongs or visits. These communities
are located in the states of Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado,
Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland,
Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York,
North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah,
Washington, and Wisconsin. One of the ways it achieves this is through
charitable contributions. The Avnet Contributions Council distributes
targeted funds for corporate giving. Avnet supports organizations,
events, or programs related to:

Education, including reading, writing,
and computer skills.

Children, including physical well-being
(medical, dental) and provisions (clothing, personal items,
shelter).

Community, including employee volunteerism
and alignment with Avnet's strategic goals. |
Targeted
Area: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest,
and West.
Eligibility:
Only nonprofit organizations that the IRS has given 501(c)(3) tax-exempt
status will be considered.
