Chesapeake
Energy Corporation is the third-largest producer of natural gas
in the United States. It owns interests in approximately 39,200
producing natural gas and oil wells that are currently producing
approximately 2.3 billion cubic feet equivalent per day. Chesapeake
Energy Corporation focuses on discovering, acquiring, and developing
conventional and unconventional natural gas reserves onshore in
the U.S., east of the Rocky Mountains.
Program
Areas: Chesapeake Energy Corporation welcomes applications for
corporate support from organizations located in states in which
it operates, including Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana,
New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West
Virginia. Chesapeake Energy Corporation's funding is focused in
five areas of service:

Targeted
Area: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, and Southwest.
Eligibility:
Chesapeake Energy Corporation provides corporate support to U.S.-based
Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 501(c)(3)-qualified charitable or
educational organizations or accredited K-12 educational institutions.
Qualified organizations must have a 501(c)(3)-qualified tax ID number
or NCES (K-12 schools/districts) ID number to apply. Chesapeake
Energy Corporation does not fund:

Individuals or families.
|

Political candidates or organizations.
|
|
Religious activities, in whole or in part, for
the purpose of furthering religious doctrine. Faith-based
organizations must provide services to all clients regardless
of denomination.

Travel
expenses.
|
|
Nonprofit
and school-sponsored walk-a-thons, athletic events, and athletic
group sponsorships other than Special Olympics.
|
|
Door
prizes or raffles.
|
|
School-affiliated
orchestras, bands, choirs, trips, athletic teams, drama groups,
yearbooks, and class parties.
|
|
Individual
collegiate Greek organizations or fraternity/sorority-related
events or fundraisers. |
Award
Amount: Award amounts vary. Chesapeake Energy Corporation also
donates surplus goods (e.g., computers and trucks) to organizations
within its operating areas of support. The same eligibility requirements
apply as stated above.
Application
Process: Chesapeake Energy Corporation's contributions committee
meets on a monthly basis to consider applications. Proposals may
