Each week, Neighborhood Networks provides potential funding sources
to help centers develop and improve programs and services. Featured
this week is Convergys.
Convergys
is a global leader in relationship management, delivering a broad
range of customer and human resource solutions, backed by technology,
business analytics, and consulting services. Convergys has been
internationally recognized for its strong commitment to social responsibility,
and corporate citizenship is one of the core values embraced by
its employees.
Program
Areas: Convergys funds programs in health and human services,
community relations, the arts, and education. Convergys supports
a wide range of educational initiatives that promote accessibility,
sustainability, and self-sufficiency.
Convergys
awards grants to organizations located in Arizona, California, Colorado,
Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana,
Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina,
Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia,
and Wisconsin.
Eligibility:
All recipients must have tax-exempt status under Section 501 (c)(3)
of the Internal Revenue Code or the equivalent. Priority is not
given to projects and programs that already receive funds via United
Way campaigns or via Convergys' participation in the Fine Arts Fund
or similar community campaigns. Convergys does not make donations
to:

Individuals.

Religious organizations that are denominational
or sectarian in purpose.
|
|
Political organizations or candidates seeking
political office.
|
|
Organizations that discriminate based on race,
color, creed, religion, national origin, citizenship, gender,
age, physical or mental disability, political belief, sexual
orientation, marital or family status, pregnancy, veteran status,
economic status, or other legally protected status.

|
Marketing initiatives such as sponsorships for
sporting events, celebrations, parades, or festivals devoid
of a charitable or business component. |
Targeted
Area: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest,
and West.
Award
Amount: Award amounts vary.
Application
Process: Applicants should provide a one- to two-page summary
of the project that includes:

A description of the organization's mission and
history. |

A
brief description of the program for which support is requested,
including rationale, amount requested; communities and number
of individuals that will be served; goals, objectives, and action
plan of the project; expected quantifiable outcomes; methods
of evaluating and reporting results; and additional sources
of financial support. |
