Each week Neighborhood Networks provides potential funding sources
to help centers develop and improve programs and services. Featured
this week is The Regal Foundation.
Program
Areas: The Regal Foundation was organized in 2003 for the purpose
of engaging in charitable, scientific, and educational activities,
both directly and by providing funds and in-kind giving to support
and enhance other organizations benefiting persons suffering economic,
social, physical, or educational hardship or disadvantage, or who
are otherwise in need of charitable, scientific, or educational
support or assistance.
Targeted
Area: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and
West.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for a Regal Foundation grant an organization must
be: " Exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the United
States Internal Revenue Code, as amended; and/or " Must agree to
use The Regal Foundation grant only for purposes that are charitable
or educational within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the United
States Internal Revenue Code, as amended.

Amount: Award amounts vary.
Application
Process: To apply for funding from The Regal Foundation, submit
an application that addresses the following application format:
Organization Information 1) Name of the organization. 2) Contact
name, phone number, and e-mail address. 3) Address of the organization.
4) Organization phone number. Mission and Priorities 5) Purpose
of the organization. 6) Services the organization provides. 7) Amount
of grant request. Describe the use of the requested Regal Foundation
grant. 8) If the purpose of equipment is proposed, describe the
item and include a price quote on the vendor's stationery. Community
Served 9) Describe the indicators in the community for the services
the organization provides. Has there been independent research outlining
the need? If so, to what extent can the need be met through services
offered by the organization? 10) Describe the parameters of financial
eligibility, if any, for the organization's services. Human Resources
11) State the names and qualifications of staff persons with titles.
12) Does the organization depend on volunteer employees? Program
Management 13) List the names of members of the governing board
or board of directors. 14) Describe how the organization will evaluate
the effectiveness of services. Financial Resources 15) List separately
each of the organization's corporate, foundational or government
funding sources. 16) In addition to the funding sources listed above,
are local fundraising campaigns or fundraising events held? Describe
each. 17) If the organization is a current recipient, and Regal
Foundation funds have leveraged its ability to obtain specific other
resources (financial, in-kind etc.), describe them. Proposed Regal
Foundation Grant Program/Project 18) Describe the specific results
or milestones the organization expects to achieve using Regal Foundation
funds. Final Issue 19) If there is anything else about the organization
or proposed use of a Regal Foundation grant that the committee should
know, provide a brief statement. Submit the application on an 8.5-inch
by 11-inch sheet of paper, sign the Grant Agreement, and staple
the application and the Grant Agreement together. Submit the original
application and the Grant Agreement. Include a copy of the most
recent audit or accounting report with a management letter. Address

will be conducted. The board of directors may allow or require individual
applicants to appear to make oral presentations. The board may also
request or require additional information regarding an individual
applicant and/or its proposed use of funds.
